Internet Saathi Grassroots to Empowerment

Meet Chetna

Chetna is an Internet Saathi in Alwar, Rajasthan. She showed her neighbour how to use the Internet to look up home remedies for stomach pains. Together, they found a recipe for a fresh ginger drink that soothed the discomfort. Since then, the villagers no longer call her Chetna. They call her ‘Internet Saathi’ and often come to her for advice and information. She trained a local group of land workers to use the Internet, and they went on to use it to find information that helped them manage a termite problem in their fields. Thanks to their hard work and access to information, an entire community had enough rice to eat that summer.
